Barrington allocates free space to community groups who wish to raise awareness or collect donations for their charitable organisations. Community groups who have used our free community space include:

Barrington has been involved in sponsoring many different organisations and causes over the years. From financial contributions to the donation of Barrington gift vouchers. The more recent involvement in sponsorship includes:

Come Build with Us is held every 3rd Thursday of the month from 10am - 12pm. It is a free hands-on activity for under 5's. This monthly event is held in partnership with Kidditech Early Learning Centre.

Starjam is all about creating a movement for positive change that champions the acceptance and celebration of disability in New Zealand.

The Jammers from Starjam will perform the last Thursday of each month from 5 pm – 6 pm, showing off their dance moves and voices.

This Barrington Initiative is for our local schools, Addington, Cashmere Primary, Scared Heart, Somerfield, South Intermediate, Thorington and West Spreydon.

Each term the school nominates a student to receive a Certificate of Excellence award. It is awarded to a student for displaying one of the values below:

  4. Creativity
  5. Citizenship
  6. Collaboration

In partnership with a local non-profit organisation Home & Family Parenting. A Christmas charity tree is located at Barrington to provide an opportunity for our shoppers who are interesting in giving a gift to those in need. All presents placed under the tree are given to Home & Family Parenting to distribute to those most in need. Gifts can be dropped off under the tree from the 14th of December.
